Updates, Conventions, and Raves

Welp, a long length of time has lapse so I’m going to get in to the straight general specifics.  Let’s see how caught up we can get without making this blog entry TL.  I will start with a “by the way” clarify the change of aesthetics on my websites.  By the way, if you are wondering why a lot of my stuff is pouring into Sushicrowd, that’s because I’m making a hostile takeover. LOL, well I can’t really make a hostile takeover of something I own and carried 85% of the weight of anyway but I’m tired of working with artists not getting involved and holding me back.  Furthermore, as I have developed Sushicrowd to create a community of otaku artists, I did not make it to be some kind of manager in a suit.  Therefore I’ve decided to change Sushicrowd into my private label with major concerns of hosting content rather than putting a name to a bunch of faces.  With that being said, I have worked with some amazing people when this was a community.  I know there were major times I could count on my long-time friend from Hawaii, Sakura Kisarazu, for her support in many projects that would come up, no matter how crazy it would sound.  Also, I’m very happy that I got to support Happy! Project with their recent concerts and funding a major part of them recording their new single.  These girls have the same aspirations that I do, they work really hard and sacrifice a lot to reach their dreams and I hope, like Sushicrowd’s mantra says, that it comes true.  Finally, CJ’s determination and his girlfriend Chelsea’s design of the logo is reason for me to note them on this Thank You.  On the other side, had to wish A LOT of people best in their future endeavors and now Sushicrowd is now the symbolic child of Rin and myself that we nurture and raise.  Another reason why we did it this way is to allow our fellow artists to work independently while we still make our efforts to push and promote.  Most of these artists are our friends and it’s only right that they relish their success under their own power just as Rin and I have. No need to put our hands in someone else’s cookie jar.

Sukoshi Con Mobile turned out to be an awesome show and my rave featuring yours truly was successful; then it became time to worry about the next major convention, FAN:dom Con at the University of West Florida in Pensacola, FL.  Rin and I flew to Florida and stayed with her folks in Defuniak Springs as FAN:dom was only an hour away from us.  Highlights of the con can be found on its playlist on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCEAE302756FA85E1 . It was an honor and pleasure that FAN:dom allowed me to do the crazy crap that I did over there being a based bro, hosting panels of different otaku fandoms, and main eventing the biggest rave I got to be a part of let alone witnessing it.  Right now Rin’s working the details to see about going back next year but I’ve already announced in Closing Ceremonies that I’ll be back and I’m going to do my best to be there.  After the convention, it went from fun to serious business as I had to cram for my CCENT exam, fast forwarding to say, I passed that sumgun.

Leading up to last week, I continued my raving tour with a charitable convention event and the local anime store’s special event.  Last Friday, Tsuki Con took place at the Blanco Ballroom in San Antonio, TX.  I’ve recorded video of parts of the event and will upload when I can. I’ll post the review either on Sushicrowd or here whenever I upload the video but I felt a lot got accomplished that day: we helped raise funds for the Advocates Youth Boxing Program, provided entertainment to the San Antonio anime fans, and got to connect with the local otaku, much so that the GM from Ooples (San Antonio’s premiere anime store), invited me to mix at the vocaloid party the next day.  It’s always a pleasure to mix for the anime fans and I hope for many more opportunities to party with the best fans in the world.

That’s pretty much all the important stuff right now.  It’s been one party after another.  Here’s hoping for many more but it’s just about time to get ready for a massive Christmas celebration here in Texas, however Rin and I decide to celebrate.
